Praise for Blood Gate

5 of 5 Stars! Surpassed My Expectations! An intense, riveting, hot, sexy read, Amy Burgess has become my favorite author in this genre. Her characters draw you in from the first chapter to the last. The unexpected and shocking twist partway through had me yelling out loud in disbelief! MORE, MORE, please! Raven Wolfsong

Amy Interviews Andre

One of the heroes of Blood Gate. Andre was Turned when he was twenty-six years old, but he’s been a vampire for seventy years. He’s a master in the London Circle and he’s Claire’s Trigger. This means that he can guide her psychic powers. She’s an Enhanced Influencer and can read minds and manipulate people into doing her bidding. She can read Andre’s mind, but she cannot influence him. He is half French and half Irish – born in Dublin and raised there, although he spent summers with his mother’s French family.

Amy: Hi, Andre! Can you tell us three interesting, random facts about yourself?

Andre: I studied stage magic with my master for several years, so I can perform tricks. When you add in my vampire speed, you really won’t believe your eyes! I’m an amateur photographer and pretty decent at PhotoShop. I hate to fly. I’m not fond of cars either. I prefer to walk or run where I want to go.

Amy: We’re in your bedroom and we’re looking in the nightstand drawer. What do we find?

Andre: This could be fun. Okay, first up is a book called Irish History and the Irish Question by Goldwin Smith with a bookmark of an illustrated green dragon marking page 14. Then we have a notebook of poetry – all stuff I’ve written to Claire which I’ve never shown her because I’m chickenshit. Handcuffs and Fodor’s Paris 2008.

Amy: If you could be any hero in any book you’ve ever read, who would you be?

Andre: Edmond Dantes from the Count of Monte Cristo. I prefer the original version in French by the way. I read this book every summer as a teen in France. My mother wanted me to go to parties and meet pretty French girls I might one day marry, but I preferred to stay home and read this book.

Amy: Favorite television show?

Andre: Huge, huge fan of The Fall. Gillian Anderson is absolutely brilliant. Loved her in X-Files as well.

Amy: Suit and tie or jeans and t-shirt?

Andre: Jeans and button down shirt usually. I know, that wasn’t precisely the question, was it? But I hate to be boxed in. Probably why I hate ties so much. I don’t mind using them to tie lovers to my bedpost, but around my neck? No thanks.

Amy: Favorite season?

Andre: Winter. It’s dark at 4:30 in the afternoon and I can roam outside for hours if like.
